In the fall of 2002, Brother [...] ministered at the evangelical Monmouth Chinese Christian Church near the New Jersey shore, where many of the believers are engineers and computer scientists employed by AT&T and Lucent. They received with open hearts the teaching that Jesus has given authority over disease and demons to his church for the preaching of the gospel. As a demonstration of this, Brother [...] shared the gospel at the Mandarin-speaking service on Sunday afternoon. After the message, he asked the Lord to confirm through miraculous healings that He indeed has the authority to forgive our sins. People wanting to be healed of their physical infirmities laid hands on themselves as Brother [...] exercised authority over the infirmities in the name of Jesus. When he asked those who had been healed to testify, some people raised their hands. Among them.....

A choir member was months pregnant and felt much discomfort as she sat in her seat in the choir section at the front. She laid hands on herself as Brother [...] ministered from the podium in the name of Jesus. The pain and discomfort vanished completely. Amazed and incredulous, she stood up to testify excitedly about what the Lord had done. Another sister stood up to testify that after her husband lost his job, she began to doubt whether the Lord was truly leading them through their time of struggle. She had been suffering from pain in her neck, so she laid her hand on her neck and asked the Lord to heal her if He was really with them during this time of difficulty. The pain disappeared. Her voice choked with emotion as she stood up to testify of the Lord's comfort and faithfulness. A third sister named Margaret then stood up to testify that she had been healed of persistent upper back pain.

After the testimonies, Brother [...] explained to the people that Jesus had just given them the physical proof---the miracles---that He had authority to forgive their sins (Mark 2:1-10). A handful of precious Chinese souls raised their hands to show they wanted Jesus to be their Savior!

Gum Disease: Powerful miracle through 16-year-old Catherine Eng

"As my mom’s excruciating pain in her teeth worsened before her appointment with her orthodontist, she could only rely on God’s help. At last the day arrived for her checkup and, to her dismay, the midsection of her teeth needed an operation due to the gum disease. This news was devastating for my mom as she had to undergo the painful surgery, which meant several consecutive trips to the dentist. Meanwhile my dad and I could only comfort her, but our human comfort paled in comparison to God’s almighty grace He would soon pour upon her.

It was God’s timing for Pastor [...] to minister at the Monmouth Chinese Christian Church in New Jersey on the weekend of the twenty-second thru the twenty-fourth of November. The longest session was on Saturday extending into the evening, which included a divine healing demonstration. The sermon was on The Elijah Challenge: Divine Healing Encounter in which he taught how to minister healing to the sick as confirmation of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Afterwards, Pastor [...] invited the sick to come forward to receive healing. We were divided into two groups: one to minister healing to the other. The principles of healing: 1) repent of iniquities, 2) have faith, 3) have authority in commanding the infirmity to leave in Jesus name, 4) and the laying on of hands.

I decided to minister to my mom and I proceeded forward to the front of the sanctuary. Pastor [...] guided everyone in rebuking the various infirmities three times (as Jesus often did) while everyone followed him. On the third time, I rebuked the infirmity in the name of Jesus with such authority that I was crying, not out of misery but from the Holy Spirit’s empowerment. Instantly, the tears poured out like a deluge and as that took place, I commanded the pain to leave and never return. I heard my voice resonate to the back of the room and something seemed to silence everyone as I felt God’s holy presence fill the sanctuary. I could feel the mid-lower section of my mother’s jaw throbbing, almost convulsing. I wasn’t sure what was happening, and I gingerly lifted my fingers from her jaw. A moment later when I placed my fingers back on the same spot, there was still trembling and quaking. I knew then that it was a spirit of pain struggling to leave. My tears stopped streaming down my face and at that moment my mom finally talked. She finally felt the pain completely disappear.

The following weekend, my mom went for an evaluation at the dentist’s office. The dentist clearly saw that the midsection was normal and even complimented himself on what a great job he had done the previous time in cleaning it. My mom testified to the doctor of God’s power which had healed her. When the dentist tested the eleven teeth in the mid-section, he reported that they were in stable and normal condition. That was where I had laid my hands that evening! They were normal and healthy-looking teeth! But the back section, where I had not laid my hands, was not healed. If I had known to put my fingers on the back part of her jaw, perhaps she would have been completely healed. In the Scriptures, Jesus often laid His hand on people where they suffered from infirmity. My mother was healed only on the part where I had laid my fingers.

I consider this incident to be a double blessing. The blessing of believing in the power of the Holy Spirit through the name of Jesus and then seeing it manifest on an infirm person through a believer was extraordinary. It restored the mid-section of my mother’s teeth to normal condition. Secondly, the many witnesses who saw and heard the miracle could share the joy in experiencing God’s glory through the name of Jesus."
