Kundalini spirits in Hong Kong
A
sister in Hong Kong named "Eileen" wrote us after she had watched
the DVD of The Elijah Challenge Basic Training. She had mentioned
to her Bible Study leader what she had learned from the Basic
Training.
The Bible Study leader responded with the following:
“I
think we ought to let God lead us when we minister to people. We
learn to trust the person whom God leads us to, whom He is using
as a vessel. Do not tell him/her what to do. Bill Johnson spoke of
one thing and I agreed with him---that so often we utilize the
method that we’ve used successfully…therefore we
fall into ‘principles’, rather than ‘presence’ (God’s
presence). There was one time he was ministering to a person, he discerned
that God was saying ‘just be still and silent, do not lay hands’.
He obeyed, and God’s presence just fell upon the person and he
(or she) got healed instantly. There was no praying, no declaration,
no laying hands. Let God have His way! There’s
a danger when we listen to a powerful teaching and we become so attached
and so strong about it, that we ignore His creativity
in ministry.”
Even
though this response sounds quite reasonable,
it is nevertheless not supported by Scripture. I wrote
back to "Eileen".
My response
“In
The Elijah Challenge, we have made the decision to stay as close
and faithful to Scripture as possible because Jesus
warned
that in the last days there would be false miracles which would even
deceive the elect, if that were possible.
Matthew
24.24 For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform
great signs and miracles to deceive even
the elect—if
that were possible.
In that
light, what Bill Johnson teaches about presence
vs. principles in healing is not specifically supported by New
Testament Scripture, but
perhaps rather by his experience.
However,
according to Scripture there is a difference between the gift of
healing---which is primarily for ministering to infirm believers
(1 Corinthians 12)---and the authority to heal
which we teach is primarily
for use in evangelism (Luke 9:1-2). Therefore,
we hold that believers can be healed through the gift of healing
when the use of authority
is not effective or not suitable. This is a more
scriptural way of understanding the matter than seeing it in terms
of presence vs. principles.
Again,
we have deliberately made the decision to remain close and faithful
to Scripture in order to stay safe and avoid even
the possibility
of being deceived during these perilous last days.”

Brother
Tom
Briggs of Salt
Ministries in Seattle, to whom I had copied
my correspondence with "Eileen", also responded to her.
“Flee
Bill Johnson's Bethel Church. They are packed full of Kundalini demons.
Stop attending that Bible study as soon as possible!
"There’s
a danger when we listen to a powerful teaching and we become
so attached and so strong about it, that we ignore His
creativity in ministry" is the serpent speaking
out of this Bible Study group leader's mouth. The Bible itself is "powerful
teaching" and we are commanded to be strongly attached to it.
Furthermore there is no such thing as "His creativity in ministry" except
in New Age and Mystic religions of the New World Religion.
Just google "kundalini in the church." Here,
I did it for you:
http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&aq=0h&oq=&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4RNTN_enUS383US383&q=kundalini+in+the+church.
Note this posting from a former member of the elite "apostles
and prophets" of this false revival spreading throughout Churchianity,
Andrew Strom:

I
also made a video exposing this serpent: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kC5b2R3JER4."
"Eileen" then writes back
"Thank you for the information. I understand now. To tell the truth, none
of us here in Hong Kong have heard of this Kundalini spirit. But I have seen
and been involved in what was
described in the Youtube video by Andrew Strom. The shaking, laughing, and
falling down is so common here."
"I
had that Kundalini spirit in me!! I used to have the violent shaking
and jerking. My mouth was opening and closing like yawning until
my jaw ached. This happened when I went forward for prayer in a Sunday
night service in Hong Kong. I would fall down and jerk violently.
And I used to think I was responding to the presence of the Holy Spirit.
But later
I kept asking the Lord if it was not of Him, to get rid of it. The
pastor said to wait and let the Holy Spirit do His
work. This
went on for more than a year or two as far as I can remember.
This was like 6 or 7 years ago. When my sister came over from New Zealand
about 5 years ago, we spent one evening praying. The moment
I started
to pray in tongues, I was shaking and jerking violently and
got my sister's attention. We sought the Lord.
And she
kept remembering our dad's Indian friends' names. Immediately I recalled
Uncle Telang. My parents rented a room to him (this
was when we lived in Malaysia) and he worked in the British
Camp (the
British had military base in Malaysia then) with my dad.
He was of the Brahmin
caste (the priestly one). I was about 11 or 12 years old
and he always called me to do his manicure and pedicure and gave
me pocket money.
This was going on for many years then.
I just
called it an Indian spirit not knowing about the Kundalini spirit.
So I repented, renounced and rededicated my life
to Jesus then. And
my sister prayed over me. I don't have the shaking now."
“I
forwarded your email to a mature Christian
lady friend (an American missionary here for over 30 years) as
I didn't know anything
about the Kundalini spirit. She then sent me
the online book of True and False
Prophets by Andrew Strom and Protection
from Deception by Derek Prince to read. And she advised me about
discernment.
And last
night we had Brian Hay for dinner (Brian holds the office of a prophet
and apostle). I asked him if he knows Andrew
Strom. And
he does know him very well. Andrew had spoken in his church in Gold
Coast, Australia. I thought the timing was so strange...like it all
happened within a week. God's ways are perfect.”
