Dear Friends and Intercessory Partners,

Hello!

By the Lord's wonderful grace, my teammate Kevin Breen and I have arrived
safely at our destination. Our hosts Anne & Doug Sampson welcomed us to
Uganda and to their home very graciously.

Uganda overall has been blessed by the Lord with a strong prayer movement
resulting in 60% of the population now Christians. However, in the
northwest where we are, the picture is a bit different. We are near to
the border of Sudan and Congo, and Isl--m and its oil money are taking an
aggressive stand to win this area. Recently there was a noisy open-air
Musl__m Crusade in town in which the Bible and Christianity were openly
bashed. The Church here appears to have no answer to this. This area thus
is now in the balance and could go either way.

I am convinced that the Lord sent me here for a time such as this. As
Peter said, "Silver or gold have I not, but what I have I give you. In
the name of Jesus Christ, walk!" I know that as you have prayed, the
power and spirit of Elijah will be restored to the Church here. The
Church will be able to preach the gospel, heal the sick, and cast out
demons to demonstrate that Jesus Christ is the only way to the Kingdom of
God. We will have the power to bring Musl__ms to Christ, despite the
temptation of money and material enticements.

However, we will need more than this. We need the Lord's wisdom and
strategy. Local pastors see their job as getting Musl__ms saved, baptizing
them as Christians and then bringing them to their church. Such a
traditional way of doing things may simply further antagonize and harden
the Musl__ms while bringing only a few persecuted souls to Christ. For a
Musl__ms, becoming a Christian and then going to church are anathema.

There may be a different way which can result in a mass movement of
Musl__ms into the Kingdom. Christ did not call people to become
Christians, but to follow Him as His disciples. Moreover He did not
command His believes to worship Him in an officially-recognized church
building as we do in the West, but rather whether His people gather in
His name. What is crucial is that Musl__ms, who already know about Jesus
in their Koran, know who He is exactly and come to know Him personally.
Those who accept Him as their Savior should not necessary be encouraged
to become "Christians" or "to go to church," but rather to become Musl__ms
for Christ. Mosques can eventually become houses of worship of the true
God through Jesus Christ. With such an approach removing unnecessary
obstacles to their faith in Christ, there can be a mass movement of
Musl__ms to Christ in this area. This approach may be difficult for local
pastors---trained according to western theological models---to accept.

For this trip, I am upgrading my expectations and prayers. Not only am I
asking the Lord for the impartation of His power to the local churches,
but a strategy to be revealed to the local pastors and leaders that along
with the miraculous signs will lead to a mass movement of Musl__ms to
Christ!

Monday Evening, February 7, 2005

Dear Intercessors & Friends,

Praise the Lord for His blessings upon the first training session this evening! I do not think I have ever taught with such boldness. I think the believers needed such a bold word if they are going to be used by the Lord to drive the spirit of Isl--m back to the Sudan up north, and then from there back to Egypt still further north. The spirit of Isl--m in this area is now so bold and aggressive that it will take the spirit of Elijah in the Church here to drive it out.

The Church here must draw now a “Maginot line” across which Isl--m must not be allowed to across to invade more of Uganda. The Lord is now equipping them with a weapon with which they will be able to destroy the works of Satan to demonstrate that Jesus Christ is indeed the only way to the Father.

Following the training session, we did a demonstration of healing. Several people came forward for healing, and as the trained believers laid hands on them to rebuke the pain and command them to be healed in the name of Jesus, all of reported that the pain or symptoms had vanished.

The saints here are rejoicing in their Lord. They are not going to run away in terror from the giants as the Church has traditionally done when confronted by the giants of Isl--m, Hinduism, and Buddhism, but like David toward Goliath they will run to them to engage them in battle and defeat them in the name of the Lord of hosts. The Lord is restoring the kingly anointing to the Church.

We have three more training sessions scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday. After that we will engage the enemy on the battlefield in open-air evangelistic healing Crusades in three separate locations Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I will proclaim the Kingdom of God to the lost and the trained believers will heal the sick and cast out demons. Many souls will be saved. Enemy forces will be routed in these battles. This will be the beginning of the end for the giant of Isl--m in Arua, a strategic area near to Sudan as well as Congo.

Please pray that the Lord will give wisdom to the local pastors and leaders to use their new weapon in such a way as to result in a mass movement of Musl__ms to Jesus Christ, not simply winning a skirmish here and there.

Dear Brethren in Christ,

This morning when I woke up, I felt a mild fever in my body. I had to teach at 1 PM.

But glory be to the Lord, who helped me. Not only was I completely well by the time I began the session, I taught with greater clarity and strength than I taught yesterday….He is so faithful. He enabled me to teach with greater boldness than ever before. His people are receiving a powerful impartation of the spirit of Elijah. This is so important in this area where the Church must stop the aggressive advance of the spirit of Isl--m.

We have two more training sessions scheduled for tomorrow and Thursday. Friday through Sunday we will hold evangelistic healing Crusades. May the Lord do mighty miraculous healings to draw many Musl__ms to come to hear the gospel and receive Christ as their Savior. May the Church here be greatly refreshed and emboldened no longer simply to go on the defensive with the usual “enclave” mentality, but to take the offensive against the spirit of Isl--m.

It is the announced goal of the Arab Musl__ms in the Sudan to spread Isl--m to the eight countries bordering it, and that includes Uganda to the south. I feel I must someday soon go to the Sudan to equip the Church there to take the offensive against the encroaching spirit of Isl--m. This is serious business which impinges on the Great Commission.

We must raise up the army of Christ in this area with weapons that Musl__m silver and gold cannot counter.

Dear Praying Saints & Friends,

The Lord was especially gracious and merciful to us today.

I am feeling a wonderful freedom and boldness to teach. The training is so appropriate for the work of the Kingdom of God here in the spiritually dark context of Africa. God's servants are being equipped with powerful weapons to destroy the works of the enemy and they will be bold in using them. During the demonstration of healing, three people with various visual impairments came forward. Three believers arose to minister to them. All three of them reported either healing or a big improvement in their eyesight. Two of them at first could not make out bookprint but afterwards could read from the Bible outloud in front of the people.

Tomorrow we will hold our final training session, and on Friday we begin our open-air evangelistic Crusade meetings where we will engage and defeat the enemy under actual battlefield conditions.

After the session we returned to the home of our hosts, Anne & Doug Sampson. Along with teammate Kevin Breen we enjoyed supper. Normally I retire to my room after eating, but tonight I ducked out to the backyard to enjoy the cool weather. It was around 9 PM. The Sampson's have a rather expansive enclosed compound, a nice place I thought for an evening walk. But the enemy is furious with our activities and sent a poisonous cobra (or it could be black mamba, even deadlier than a cobra) to attack me outside in the darkness of the evening.

The Sampson's have been missionaries in Africa since 1979, and only once before have they seen a similarly deadly snake, a cobra. As this one moved along the cement walk of the office in my direction, the noise of his slithering attracted the attention of the Sampson's night watchman Patrick, who "just happened" to be at that spot at that moment. He is usually asleep elsewhere in the compound at that time and does not wake up until 11 PM to begin his night watch. But the Lord arranged for him to be there at the moment the snake approached me from a distance. Patrick grabbed a long piece of wood and clubbed the serpent to death.

Praise the Lord for saving me from the enemy's attack and from a terrible snake bite. There is no treatment in Arua for such an injury. The enemy wanted to put me out of action, but the Lord protected His unworthy servant.

Dear Saints of the Almighty,

Greetings in the dear name of our Lord Jesus, dear intercessors!

I am still marveling at the Lord’s deliverance from the enemy’s snare last night. Anne told me that most definitely the incident was not a coincidence, but that someone in Arua does not want us here.

I had been outside walking in the compound for nearly thirty minutes before the snake came, so I conclude that the unseen enemy had been watching me. He saw the window of opportunity. Within that thirty minutes he sent the snake to attack and possibly kill me. But the Lord awoke Patrick, who is usually asleep elsewhere in the compound at that time. He began his nightwatchman duties earlier than usual last night. Anne said that he is not the most alert watchman. But he heard and saw the snake---Anne now thinks it was more likely a deadlier black mamba than a cobra---and slew it.

I can see how the enemy is furious with me. With much boldness I’ve been encouraging and equipping the local believers to drive the spirit of Isl--m back to Sudan, and from there further north to Egypt, and then from Egypt northward into the Sea. The weapon and strategy are simply proclaiming the kingdom of God, healing the sick, and casting out demons. I don’t think I’ve ever made such bold statements before. Satan is very displeased.

Do continue to pray for my protection….

Today we have our final training session. We begin the evangelistic healing meetings tomorrow on Friday at 4 PM. Some Musl__ms will come---some to mock us, some to observe, some to be healed.

Please pray for great manifestations of the Lord’s healing power through the trained believers to confound God’s enemies and shut their mouths, to weaken the hold of Isl--m upon its victims, and to open the door for seeking Musl__ms to enter the kingdom of God through faith in Jesus Christ. The area of Arua is one of the strategic frontlines of the battle between the Kingdom of God and Isl--m.

Dear Praying Saints,

The Lord bless you today!

Thank you for your ministry of intercessory prayer on our behalf. It is very wonderful to have you as our partners….thank the Lord for your faithfulness to the Lord and His gospel.

Thank our gracious Lord from delivering me from the deadly serpent!

This afternoon at 4 PM (7 AM Tuesday Houston time) we will be holding our first open-air Crusade. Please pray that the powers of witchcraft and Isl--m will be bound and helpless to stop the servants of the Most High from performing great signs and wonders to prove in public that our God is the only true God, and that Jesus is the only way to Him! Pray that God’s authority and mountain-moving faith will move with great results through His trained servants, resulting in a great breakthrough for the gospel here. This is a strategic area for the gospel, a meeting place of three countries---Sudan, Uganda, and Congo.

I will write you again tonight after the Crusade…

Dear Brethren in Christ,

Praise the Lord for the victory He gave to His servants this afternoon!

We set up our sound equipment at what turned out to be a rural marketplace where women gathered daily to sell various items and produce placed on mats over the ground. As our worship team stood up to sing, a crowd people gathered to watch.

Then I came forward to proclaim the kingdom of God. I told the people that the True God, the God of heaven who created the heavens and the earth had sent us to proclaim his Kingdom. To demonstrate that His Kingdom was near, we would ask Him to heal the sick who were there in the name of Jesus Christ. When I asked who wanted to be healed of their physical infirmities, many people, mostly women, raised their hands. I told them that the miracles they would witness would be the proof that our God is the true God and that Jesus Christ is the only way into His Kingdom.

I asked the trained pastors, leaders, and believers to come forward to lay hands on them to minister healing. They came, they saw, and they healed the sick in the name of Jesus Christ. One missionary sister from Malaysia commented on how “easy” it had been at the Crusade to heal the sick in Christ’s name. Those who were healed of their infirmities---all ladies---testified publicly, and the testimonies went on for at least half an hour. Some had endured physical suffering for many years. Some felt a cool sensation coming upon their bodies as they were being set free. Each time I asked the woman healed if she wanted to enter the kingdom of God through faith in Jesus Christ, she would respond that she was prepared to follow Jesus Christ.

When after the testimonies of miraculous healings I gave the altar call to accept Christ for the forgiveness of their sins, between sixty and seventy-five precious souls, mostly women and children, crowded in front of me. I led them in prayer, and each one was born again into the Kingdom of God!

The local pastors and leaders have now seen that the Lord is using them to heal the sick powerfully as the kingdom of God is proclaimed with great boldness. This is just the beginning of the endtime advance of the Church in Arua.

Tomorrow on Saturday at 4 PM we will holding a second Crusade in a different venue. On Sunday at 4 PM will be our most critical Crusade meeting as it is to be held in a predominantly Musl__m area. Please pray for great miracles in these meetings as well as the wisdom and special strategy how to present the gospel to these Musl__ms. We are looking for an eventual mass movement of Musl__ms to Christ, not just a few here and there.

Thank you for your powerful intercessory partnership with us which is bearing fruit for the kingdom of God here!

There are quite a few Sudanese believers here who were displaced during the war. They have been involved in the Seminar & Crusade and have commented that this is exactly what is needed in their war-torn country of Sudan where the conflict between Isl--m and Christianity is severe. I t It appears through these Sudanese believers the Lord will open the door for me to minister there in the future. There we may be able to have impact by equipping the Church to drive the spirit of Isl--m back north to Egypt.

Dear Brethren in Christ,

Praise the Lord of hosts…our second open-air evangelistic meeting was a wonderful victory for the Kingdom of God!

Like yesterday, we set up our sound equipment in a market area. In the beginning, as our worship team sang, people were hesitant to come forward to join us. Even after I began to speak the people remained at a distance.

I told them, “Our God has commanded us to heal the sick and proclaim His Kingdom. If you want Him to heal you, come and stand in front of me.” At first, only a single solitary man stood before me for healing of his eyesight. I told the brothers to minister to him. After a while some women came forward as well, and I asked the trained sisters to minister to them in the name of Jesus. The Lord began to heal the sick, and one by one people came up to testify of their healing.

More and more people were drawn to the scene. A crowd of unabashed youngsters gathered right in front of us and listened with rapt attention. Then I told the people that the superior Kingdom of God was near as demonstrated by His power to heal…that He was inviting them to leave the inferior kingdom of darkness, WITCHCRAFT, sin, and disease by believing in His Son Jesus Christ who died to bear their sins. In essence I threw down the gauntlet to the witchdoctors who make a good living by “treating” people afflicted by infirmities and evil spirits. I encouraged the people not to be afraid to renounce the witchdoctors and evil spirits, for the Lord would protect them.

By this time there were I would say a few hundred people there, near and at a distance. When I gave the invitation for people to leave the kingdom of darkness and their trust in witchcraft in order to enter the Kingdom of God, between 100 and 150 souls---many of them precious children---responded. I led them in a prayer to receive Jesus Christ.

Afterwards our worship team led the crowd in praise and dancing before the Lord who had done such great things in our midst. It was so touching to see little children dancing before the Lord. Our joyful thanksgiving was punctuated by people who were still being healed and coming up to testify to the crowd of their healings. The saints and workers rejoiced at the goodness of the Lord.

The wonderful thing about this is that after I leave Uganda, the local churches here can continue to hold such meetings on their own in different places in Arua. If they do so faithfully, the practice of witchcraft can be wiped out. Why should anyone pay for treatment from a witchdoctor if it’s common knowledge that Jesus can heal them for free?

Tomorrow (Sunday) at 4 PM we have our final open-air meeting, and it will be held in a Musl__m area. We will be healing the sick as we have done in our first two meetings, but we will not be giving a public invitation for people to accept Jesus Christ. The situation is such that the Musl__ms will simply be more inflamed even they see us invading their territory and stealing their sheep. Rather we have decided to use the miracles as seed sown to encourage future dialogue with the Musl__ms. They will see the miracles done in the name of Isa Almasih (Jesus Christ in Arabic). Since they cannot argue with these miracles, they may at some point in the future be open to meeting with the local pastors for discussion about who Jesus really is. Our hope is that such an approach will someday lead to a mass movement of Musl__ms to Christ. But Musl__ms who are ready to accept Christ will be followed up and discipled secretly but not asked to join a Christian church.

Please pray that the Lord will do miracles of such magnitude that the mouths of the radical Musl__ms will be shut and that thoughtful Musl__ms will start thinking about who Jesus really is.

Wednesday Evening, Feb. 16, 2005

Dear Esteemed Intercessors and Ministry Prayer Partners,

We have completed our first training session here, and the Lord's blessing was wonderful. The Lord's gracious anointing upon me to teach was evident. All four or five of the local people who came up for healing during the time of demonstration were completely healed as the trained people laid hands on them. (I ministered to the first one. A missionary from South Africa was not healed.) The servants of the Lord are giving thanks to the Lord and looking forward to what the Lord will do during the upcoming days.

No longer will the Church here run away in terror from the giant of witchcraft, she will now run toward it to cut off its head in order that Zambia will know that there is a true God!

One pastor has written 12 letters out inviting the sick (the blind, the deaf, the lame) and the lost to come to his church on Sunday morning when I will be preaching. I heard that hundreds may be coming!

Thank you for interceding so faithfully for us, dear saints! I am believing that the Lord will begin to do the greater works through us. As the four of us prayed together tonight, our hostess Janet Berner sensed that the Lord will deepen the teaching and ministry He has given me, and that truly incredible miracles will begin to happen as we continue to give away to God's servants what He has freely given to me.

Tomorrow morning as well as Friday at 9 AM through 1 PM (not 10 AM) we will hold our second training session. Our three Crusade meetings will be Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings.

615 PM Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005

Dear Friends and Intercessors,

Greetings, partners in the ministry of the gospel!

We've already completed two days of training here, and the Lord has been extra gracious. Today a local sister who had been totally deaf in one ear since the age of a year and a half due to measles came forward during the time of demonstration. Another woman came forward to minister to her by inserting her finger in the deaf ear and commanding the ear to be opened in Jesus' name. The sister broke out weeping with thanksgiving unto the Lord as she could hear clearly from the ear for the first time in nearly forty years! It's somewhat unusual for this kind of powerful miracle to occur during training.

Another lady came to the training with extreme swelling in her eyes that caused her not to be able to see and much pain as well. At the beginning of the session I recall her sitting in the back with head bowed and eyes buried in her hands because of the pain. I asked my teammate Kevin and our host Janet to minister to her. There was some partial relief of the pain, but she had not been able to see well enough to read her Bible for over two years. Her family has been involved in witchcraft.

Finally during the demonstration near the end of the session, Kevin brought her forward. I asked for someone to come forward to minister to her, and after a moment Janet came forward with some fear and trembling. I instructed Janet to minister to her in stages, as it turned out. First the pain left, but she still could not read bookprint. Then as Janet ministered to her again, her sight improved and she could make out some normal sized print but with difficulty. Janet took her to the back to continue the ministry privately, and when they returned to the front a bit later, the sister was able to read outloud from a Bible with very small print! That was a major victory for Janet who is very used to just praying for the sick and is beginning now to exercise her authority over disease and demons.

Other miracles took place at the end of the session as I asked anyone who wanted healing to come to the front. A group of about a dozen came up, and another dozen of the participants came forward to lay hands on them. Several testified that they were healed during that time.

All the pastors and leaders are very encouraged and give thanks to the Lord for the authority He has given them for increasing His Kingdom and pushing back the stronghold of witchcraft here.

The pastors and believers here (and I believe all over Africa in general) have been held in slavery to the fear of witchcraft and curses. This fear of being cursed influences and even determines their behavior and actions. Do pray that they will be delivered from this terrible slavery as they witness the authority that the Lord has given them over demons and the power of darkness.

Tomorrow on Friday we will begin our final training session at 9 AM. In the evening at 7 PM we will hold our first evangelistic healing Crusade. Please pray for an explosion of the Lord's authority over disease and demons through the trained believers that will lead to freedom for the Church from slavery to witchcraft and increase of the Kingdom of God here in Livingstone as souls accept Christ as their Savior and Deliverer. I sense this will be the first major showdown between the Church and the stronghold of witchcraft in Livingstone. The Church will be victorious.

As you may recall, Brother Emmanuel was trained in our Seminar in Nigeria last November. Since then he has held two very powerful Crusades where the Lord did marvelous things. A few weeks ago I sent you his report on his December 2004 Crusade where 2,000 people accepted Christ. He just sent me an absolutely fascinating report on his second Crusade and I've forwarded to you. Please pray for this wonderful young servant of the Lord...

"Calvary greetings in Jesus name.There was a crusade that was organised for a man of God in Otukpa Benue state Northern part of Nigeria,Unfortunately the man of God was attacked with stroke two days to the programme,so I was located to handle the crusade becouse of the Dec.crusade I had.

The 1st day of the crusade was powerfull as God healed 3 deaf and dumb,immediately I climbed the stage.the people faith were lifted up,then I preached on The exchange made at the cross of calvary,then I pray for the sick in mass,many were instantly healed of tumor,asthma breath seized,a woman with mayorpic eye sight was healed,God did marvelous healing as people tes tify in tears.

On the 2nd day a notable mafia that threthen the whole community came with his serpents to scatter the meeting,he brought out his serpents ,they were 5 in number,he took the cobra and put it at the stage,many people were fraighten,some even ran away,at the begining I was afraid I almost came down from the stage,because I know the man meant to kill,suddenly boldness came upoum me and I went directly and pick up the snake with my bare hand,and commanded it to die ,and it died immediately and I pick the other 4 likewise and I commanded them to die and they all died.The crowd gathered and they were praising God jubilating that the power of God is real,and all the spectators confess Jesus as Lord that night Including the mafia and his family,the last day which was on the 13th Feb.The crowd trippled the previous 2 days.TO GOD BE THE GLORY.as I am Typing this letter now I am shedding tears because the joy of the lord has overwhemed me.

I am still preparing for the 11th -13th March Healing Crusade at Ogbengbeni.

Dear Intercessors and Beloved Partners in Ministry,

Yesterday the Lord gave us victory over His enemies. First, the report that I received from Emmanuel in Nigeria I was able to share with the believers at the final training session in the morning. The Church here lives in slavery to the fear of witchcraft, a fear inbred within African culture itself. Emmanuel's report about the serpents brought to his Crusade by the gangster was a very powerful and moving teaching for them. As you may recall, Emmanuel initially was fearful of the snakes, but the spirit of boldness came upon him and he picked them up one by one, commanding them to die in the name of Jesus. God was greatly glorified as the serpents perished, and the entire crowd accepted Christ that night, including the mafia gangter and his family. The pastors and leaders at our final training session were greatly built up and challenged by what Emmanuel accomplished with the Lord's help. This is exactly what they needed!

Then in the evening we held the Crusade. There were not many people present because out hosts Butch and Janet Berner had returned from the USA just one week ago and had not had the opportunity to announce the Crusade to the community. (I had met them just two or three months ago during their leave in the States at which time we planned the meetings for this week.) So the believers fanned out to the local neighborhood and invited the sick and the lost to come to the meeting. They came, some barely walking or having to be carried in.

I preached the gospel according to Mark 2 where Jesus proved that he had authority to forgive sin by healing the paralytic. After the message we asked the Lord to once again prove that he had authority to forgive sin and grant eternal life by healing the sick who had come. The trained believers came forward and laid hands on them, speaking with authority in Jesus' name as they had been taught. After several minutes of ministry, people began to come up to the platform to testify of their healings.

One woman who came to the meeting by taxi had been so weak that she had to be held by a person on each side since she could not walk by herself. She walked up to the stage by herself and testified that she was healed. Afterwards she sat down and began to breastfeed her baby. An older woman who according to Janet came to the meeting shuffling on her infirm legs climbed up the stage and testified with much delight that she was healed. Running back and forth on the platform, she exclaimed that now she could even catch a rabbit! A baby orphan boy who had been born unable to turn his head normally and to see was brought to the stage by his primary caregiver at the Christian orphanage. She said that now he could turn his head normally. Moreover he was also looking at me and tracking my movements as I stood next to his caregiver. He had not been able to do this previously. There were other testimonies as well. One man who was literally carried into the meeting was able to get up and walk a bit, his condition significantly improved. (One completely blind man reported only slight improvement in his eyesight after being ministered to extensively.)

When after all the testimonies I gave the invitation to accept Christ as Savior based on the word of God and the miracles, a dozen precious souls came forward!

Last night, the believers stepped onto the battlefield, engaged the enemy, and were victorious in the name of the Lord. The gospel was preached, the sick were healed, demonic curses were broken, demons were cast out, and the Kingdom of God increased in Livingstone. But this is just the beginning of the demise of the kingdom of darkness and witchcraft here. Tonight we will hold an open-air meeting in a busy public place. Many more people will be touched by the Most High God as his saints engage the enemy kingdom once again. Tomorrow on Sunday Kevin and I will have three more meetings. We will witness greater and greater victories in the name of our God.

The local pastors and believers have seen what God has done through them; they have witnessed the new model of evangelism. They will run with it after we have returned to the USA.

Psalms 18:29-50 For by You I have run through a troop; and by my God I have leaped over a wall. (30) As for God, His way is perfect; the Word of Jehovah is tried; He is a shield to all those who trust in Him. (31) For who is God besides Jehovah? Or, who is a Rock except our God? (32) It is God who girds me with strength and makes my way perfect. (33) He makes my feet like hinds' feet, and sets me on my high places. (34) He teaches my hands to war, so that a bow of bronze is bent by my arms. (35) You have also given me the shield of Your salvation; and Your right hand has held me up, and Your gentleness has made me great. (36) You have given a wide place for my steps under me, so that my feet have not slipped. (37) I have pursued my enemies and overtaken them; nor did I turn again until they were destroyed. (38) I have shattered them, and they cannot rise again; they have fallen under my feet. (39) For You have girded me with strength for the battle; You have humbled under me those who rose up against me. (40) You have also given me the neck of my enemies; so that I might destroy those who hate me. (43) You have delivered Me from the strivings of the people; You have made Me the head of the nations; a people whom I have not known shall serve Me. (44) As soon as they hear of Me, they shall obey Me; the sons of strangers shall bow down to Me. (49) Therefore I will give thanks to You, O Jehovah, among the nations, and sing praises to Your name, (50) magnifying the salvations to His king, and working mercy to His anointed, to David, and to his seed forevermore.

Thank you, dear saints, for partnering with us. Together with the Lord's help we have accomplished a significant victory for the Kingdom of our God here in Livingstone. And this is just the beginning, for the local saints will continue these battles until the Great Commission is fulfilled here!

This evening at 7 PM we will hold our open-air evangelistic meeting. Tomorrow morning there will be two Sunday services in local churches (where I plan on doing the same thing) and in the evening another Crusade meeting at 7 PM. Please continue to intercede to the Lord for us.

Dear Intercessors and Friends,

Last night we had a wonderful open-air evangelistic rally where the Lord's power to heal and save were evident! It was held in a central area--- on a ready-made concrete platform at the end a grassy field near a market area where public events are often held. People, especially children, gathered when they heard the music and singing of our worship team. There were far more people than last night.

As I went up to preach, the Lord gave me unprecedented power and boldness to proclaim His Kingdom. I told the people that the Most High God, the only true God had sent us. He was holy; He hated sin, witchcraft, and sexual immorality. And since He was just, He would bring condemnation upon those living in sin. However He is also loving and gracious and was offering the forgiveness of sins, healing from infirmities, freedom from curses and demons as well as deliverance from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Heaven. This free gift is through His Son Jesus Christ alone. To demonstrate that Jesus Christ is the only way to his Kingdom and to Him, we would ask Him in the name of Jesus Christ to heal the infirm. I asked all the sick who wanted healing to come to the front. About twenty people assembled in a line just in front of the stage. The Holy Spirit had shown me that He wanted to heal someone with pain near the chest. A woman hobbled forward with severe pain on both sides of her chest. Slowly and painfully she climbed up the concrete steps with the help of a friend and stood in front of me on the stage.

I prayed to the Lord to heal her, to send the fire so that the people would know that He alone is God. Then I laid my hands on her in the name of Jesus Christ and broke any curse on her and commanded the spirit of pain to leave. The pain left her sides but remained in her hands and feet. Once more I ministered to her. The pain disappeared from her hands and after I laid hands on her feet, all the pain was gone. She lifted up her arms normally and walked briskly around the stage, completely healed! The people broke out in hearty applause at the power of our God. I noticed the people were so delighted by the Lord's power to heal that I decided to invite them to accept Christ for the forgiveness of their sins and deliverance from the kingdom of darkness. Many responded eagerly, most of them children. My estimate is that over one hundred people raised their hands to receive God's gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ.

I led them in a prayer of repentance and of believing on Jesus on God's Son who died on the cross to bear our sins. The angels in heaven rejoiced!

After this I asked the trained believers to come forward to minister to the remaining infirm people who were still waiting for the Lord's healing touch. The Lord healed many more as hands were laid on the sick and authority over disease and demons exercised by the disciples of Christ. Those healed came up to the platform to testify. God was glorified and His Kingdom increased in Livingstone, the town named after British missionary and explorer David Livingstone who discovered the area 150 years ago.

Sunday afternoon February 20

I have just returned from lunch following our busy morning of meetings. It was indeed a very fruitful time. Kevin preached at a 9 AM meeting at one church, and I preached at the 12 noon meeting at another. The pastor at the second church had attended our training seminar, so he invited many people who were not regular members to attend...we would be ministering to the sick.

The usual Sunday attendance was between 15 to 25 people, and we saw over 100 people when we walked in. Let me give you some background information...witchcraft and consulting witch doctors is one of the primary threads of the fabric of African culture, and believers have generally not been delivered from this tradition. Another very common practice is receiving a "blessing" from the spirit of a departed ancestor held at a special ceremony. My host Butch told me that once he arrived at the church for a service to find no one there---all the people were elsewhere attending a "blessing" ceremony.

The only way to deliver African believers from this bondage is through a demonstration of the far superior power of the name of Jesus.

Before I stood up to speak, the Lord had told me that he wanted to heal someone with an elbow. So at the pulpit I immediately announced that the Lord wanted to heal someone with such an infirmity. A woman who had suffered from a stroke came forward. Not only she could not bend her elbow, she suffered from some paralysis on the right side of her body. I laid my hands on her and in the name of Jesus Christ commanded her to be healed while rebuking any curses over her. As I ministered to her she began to lift her bad arm up and down. I told her to bend her elbow and she promptly obeyed, bringing her arm all the way to her chest. Then I took her hand and told her to walk. She walked back and forth at the front briskly without any trace of a limp. Praise the Lord!

I asked the people if witchcraft and ancestral "blessings" could do such a miracle; they said no.

Then I ministered mass healing in Jesus' name, and about six or seven people came to the front to testify that they had been healed, including one elderly man who said that his eyesight had been restored. I challenged the people---both believers and non-believers alike---to renounce witchcraft, ancestral blessings, and sexually immorality and to put their faith in Jesus Christ alone. After some prodding, the entire assembly stood up to repent and turn to Jesus. I led them in a sinners' prayer.

After that I called my team, consisting of both westerners and local Zambians, to come to the front to minister healing to those who had not yet been healed. The Lord's power to heal was present, and about another thirty people testified of their healing. Eyesight was restored, a tumor/growth disappeared, deaf ears were opened up, spirits of epilepsy were cast out, among some of the testimonies.

The Church of Jesus Christ has won the first skirmish with witchcraft and traditional spiritual practices here in Livingstone. Bearing in mind that this is generally the condition of the Church throughout Africa, there remains so much work to do. But now we know how to defeat this particular enemy. May this teaching spread throughout the Church in Africa.

Tonight at 7 PM we have one more Crusade meeting. Very early tomorrow morning we depart for the USA. I will arrive back in Houston over forty hours after we leave Livingstone. I think this will be the last message you receive from me until I get home.

Dear Saints and Partners in Ministry,

I am now sitting in the transit lounge of the Nairobi Airport waiting for our flight to Amsterdam, the first leg of our international flight back home to the USA. This message will be sent to you after I return home to Houston. Our work on this trip is done and mission accomplished! Thank you for providing the essential air cover and support which made the victories possible.

I believe we have witnessed meetings never before seen in the two countries Kevin and I visited. The evangelistic rallies we held were not attended by huge crowds drawn to big names and not widely attended by local pastors because of scheduling conflicts with other events happening at the same time. However, for the very first time the Lord used "ordinary" disciples to heal the sick effectively and consistently at evangelistic events. They have learned to use these miracles to proclaim the Kingdom of God as boldly as it was in the Book of Acts. They are now able to declare in the spirit and power of Elijah: "Our God is the only true God, and Jesus Christ is the only way to Him. We will pray to our God in the name of His Son Jesus Christ to send the fire, and He will answer with fire by healing the sick miraculously to demonstrate to you that He is in fact the true God."

On this trip the Lord gave us victory over the enemy strongholds of dead religion, animism, witchcraft and ancestral spirits. The power behind these forces could simply not match the power which the Lord manifested in healing the sick through His disciples. People flocked to the name of Jesus Christ. Unfortunately we did not have much opportunity to square off against the spirit of Isl--m this time. But now the churches which were trained have a weapon with which they can engage in battle this formidable foe which I consider greater than witchcraft and the like. A Church not seen for many hundreds of years if not since the days of the Church Fathers and the Book of Acts has arisen.

For me personally the Lord has given me boldness as never before. During our final evangelistic rally held at an Assembles of God Church in Livingstone, I issued an Elijah-like challenge to any practitioners, dabblers, or sympathizers of witchcraft present at the meeting. I proposed that they call on the name of their spirits to heal the sick, and we followers of Jesus Christ would call on Him as well. The one who answered "by fire" would be the true God. There were no takers this time. And so I went ahead and asked the Lord to reveal His power. When the trained believers laid hands on the sick who came to the front, to my surprise the miracles happened fast and furious, more quickly than at any of the previous meetings. (However, some severely disabled people were not healed to my knowledge.) When after the testimonies I challenged the people to renounce witchcraft and the fear of witchcraft, they all responded eagerly with one voice.

One thing is troubling me. The Lord has revealed a new weapon for His Church during these endtimes. No enemy can prevail against the Church armed with this weapon---not witchcraft, not Isl--m, not Hinduism, not Buddhism. I have personally witnessed over the years these gospel-resistant peoples flocking to Jesus Christ when they hear the pure unadulterated gospel and see the miracles. The Lord is freely giving this weapon away to His Church, to whomever wants it for proclaiming the Kingdom of God. But at this moment it is so very new and unknown to the Church. I suspect that even most of those who have witnessed it do not see its potential in the hands of the Church for fulfilling the Great Commission. To others perhaps it may seem "to good to be true" in light of the excesses, imbalances, and disappointments of the recent past in the area of supernatural healing. The Church reminds me of the circus elephant who has grown used to being chained to a peg in the ground. When the chain is removed from his leg, he will not venture beyond his familiar patch of ground but remains within the radius of the chain. In the language of psychology (in which I have an advanced degree), this is called "learned helplessness." I feel holy frustration as I see the Church weak and retreating in the face of the giants which have defied her. She preaches the gospel alright, but with words alone. Words will not impress the giants; demonstrations of supernatural power do.

Please pray with me about this. May the Lord give me patience. May He open wide doors for this weapon to be put into the hands of His Church. I do rejoice in saints like Brother Emmanuel of Nigeria who immediately took what he learned and boldly plunged a knife---the sword of the spirit---into the heart of the giant in northern Nigeria.
