A Report About the Healing Encounter Training & Crusade

Gospel-resistant Vietnamese accepting Christ in unprecedented numbers

We thank God for a wonderful opportunity to work with Evangelist Brother Bill in organizing the Healing Encounter Training & Crusade among the Vietnamese communities in Southern California.

This is truly an unprecedented experience for myself and for many of my friends and coworkers in the Vietnamese churches in Orange County. During the 3 evening training sessions, we learned about the authority given to us by Jesus Himself to preach the Gospel and heal the sick. Then on Saturday, April 24, 2004, we organized 2 evangelistic crusades, at 11 AM and 4:30 PM, at a beautiful park in the city of Garden Grove. (This is the first time there is a crusade for the Vietnamese community ever held in a public park in Orange County, California).

By faith, we rented 400 chairs, without knowing for sure how many non-believers would show up. We did a good job in advertising about the Healing Crusade on Vietnamese T.V., radio, and newspaper. With lots of Christians praying for the crusade before and during the crusade, the results were miraculous!

Testimony of healing through Jesus' name

There were about 300 people attending the morning crusade. About 200 are non-believers. This alone is an amazing fact! (Usually, in previous crusades in the Vietnamese communities, there are more believers attending than non-believers). And out of the 200 non-believers there were about 80 who went forward to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Hallelujah!

In the 4:30 PM crusade, there were about 200 people attending. Again, the majority were non-believers. At every invitation for physical healing and salvation, the number of non-believers who went forward outnumbered the trained believers 2-3 times. This is truly amazing! We never had such a problem before. Come to think of it, this is a “good” problem. Because this showed that there are so many people out there who are looking to God for physical healing and for salvation. Our churches must mobilize more believers to be trained and equipped to minister to the mass of the not-yet-saved people around us.

Testimony of miraculous healing

In the end, we collected 60 cards returned by the new believers. A number of them did not return their contact card. Probably because we were not prepared for such a big response.

This was truly a healing encounter. The people were in awe at the power of God demonstrated in healing many of sickness and diseases. Hearing testimonies of miraculous healings of pains and asthmas and tumors, the people’s hearts were ready to believe in the God who loved them and sent His Son to die on the cross to save them from the punishment of their sin. I believe that this crusade indeed exalted the Name of Jesus in Orange County and beyond. The testimonies have spread widely. More people have heard of the miracles that God did at the crusade. I believe that future healing crusades will be more welcome and received by the Vietnamese communities in Orange County and the surrounding areas.

The Name of Jesus has power to heal

Another wonderful thing I observed at this crusade is: It is no longer an event in which the believers come only to show to support and observe how God saves people through the main speaker and the church leaders. Here, all the trained believers are used by God in ministering healing to the sick and thereby preparing their hearts to respond positively to the Gospel.
