Abstract: During these Last Days when the remaining time before the end is short, there must be—and is now taking place—an acceleration in missions for Matthew 24:14 to be fulfilled.

Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

Many are convinced that we are currently in the Last Days preceding “the end.” Before that, the gospel will be preached in the whole world to all nations. Since missiologists estimate that well over two billion people have never heard the gospel, there must and will be an acceleration in the preaching of the gospel in the world during these Last Days before the end.

This is now beginning to take place especially on the foreign mission field where the Lord is restoring understanding of exactly HOW the gospel is to be preached.

Before Jesus sent the Twelve disciples and then the Seventy-Two disciples out to proclaim the kingdom of God to those who never heard, he first gave them power and authority over all demons and to heal diseases.

Luke 9:1 When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, 2 and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. …6 So they set out and went from village to village, proclaiming the good news and healing people everywhere.

Luke 10:1 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. …9 Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ …17 The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.”

In Acts following Pentecost when the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples in Jerusalem, they were filled with boldness and went forth into Judea, Samaria, and unto the ends of their known world—the region of the Mediterranean—healing the sick powerfully and boldly proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom. They had accomplished all this within a few generations.

Nearly two millennia later, the Messiah Jesus Christ is at the door and will appear again shortly. Therefore He is now restoring understanding of how 120 disciples succeeded—astonishingly—in taking the gospel of the kingdom to “the ends of the earth” in the First Century. We will use this understanding to equip today’s estimated 400,000 missionaries around the world to fulfill the Great Commission during these Last Days.

Once today’s missionaries are taught exactly HOW to heal the sick supernaturally as compelling and irrefutable evidence to the lost that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, there will take place in missions the acceleration which must occur if the Church is to fulfill the Great Commission during the short time remaining before the great and terrible Day of the Lord. That is the calling the Lord has entrusted to us at The Elijah Challenge.

John 14:11 Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves. 12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

The Lord is fulfilling this solemn promise during these Last Days for His Church to fulfill the Great Commission. His Bride is now beginning to write the final chapter of the Book of Acts—relating the extraordinary Acts of the Holy Spirit through the Lord’s disciples beginning at Pentecost not just up to Paul in Rome in Acts 28, but to the ends of the earth during these Last Days before the end. Acts 29 is now being written.
