Historic Mission Trip to Manipur, North India
March 2000

In 1894 Bill and Elizabeth Pettigrew, American Baptist missionaries from Ireland, brought the gospel to the spirit-worshipping headhunters of Manipur who inhabited the northeast corner of India. Their initial foray brought them to the Mao people, one of several Naga tribes who originated from China many centuries ago. The Mao people rejected the Pettigrews and their gospel message. Eventually they turned to a neighboring Naga tribe called the Tangkul who welcomed the gospel. When the Tangkul gave up their animistic practices to enter into a personal relationship with Christ, God blessed them with a standard of living and health that became the envy of their neighbors, the Maos. Eventually many Mao people accepted Christianity to get these outward benefits without understanding the priority of spiritual regeneration. The anticipated benefits didn't materialize and the Mao people remained backward and weak. Seventy years later…

The four of us settled into our front-row seats in the cavernous Mao church in Manipur, India. The large choir of Mao women had assembled directly in front of us. The Mao people had written a special song to honor and welcome us to their village. As they began to sing, an unforgettably haunting wail pierced my heart. Translated into English, their words were…

Among the races God created
He gave the white man…
Love and the desire to love
To herald the gospel of Jesus
To all four corners of the earth

…Despising their very own lives
To bring the gospel of life to the Mao people
They come bringing the good news

But our revered forefathers
Did not accord them happy welcome
Therefore our ancestors
Lived a life of head-hunting
Not seeking the Giver of Life
But the boast of worldly living

This is why the Mao tribe
Suffers backwardness and weakness…
Today we look forward
To the kind visit by you
We wait to welcome you
You who come to bestow with blessings to bless
May the Holy Spirit work healing in and through you…

According to a Mao leader, by the late 1920s the Mao tribe knew they had made a mistake when they refused the white missionaries. But those who became Christians did so just to get material blessings from the Lord. And since they lacked solid Bible teaching their Christianity became just another thread in the fabric of their predominantly animistic culture. Their faith was lifeless, powerless, and institutionalized. To make things worse, the government had sealed off the area from foreigners because of violence between tribes. No foreign missionary had ever spent more than a day among the Mao people to teach them. But God had not forgotten them. In the Mao tribe He had kept a remnant of believers who would humble themselves before Him. Among them was a prominent medical doctor and his wife, Dr. Lorho and Apin.

These believers, the leaders of the churches, were convinced that the stubborn backwardness of their tribe was due to their ancestors' rejection of the gospel. They set aside land for a House of Prayer and a Prayer Mountain. During a week of prayer and fasting in 1994, these Mao leaders dedicated their entire tribe to God in repentance for the sin of their ancestors. The Lord heard their cries.

In October, 1999, God sent Brent K., Steve K., and their team from Window of Opportunity into the area. During this one-day trip they led the Mao leaders in a prayer service of identificational repentance to God for the sins of their ancestors. Brent repented on behalf of the British who had colonized the Nagas and the Maos on behalf of their forbears who had rejected the gospel. The curse was broken. The stage was set for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit during Window of Opportunity's return visit in March 2000.

God assembled a "special" team for the mission. Joining Brent and medical missionary Steve were Ann J. of the U. S. Center for World Mission and myself with The Elijah Challenge. The Maos always refer to missionaries as "the whites." They were surprised to see among "the whites" two missionaries who were not white but rather looked very much like them.

That first night, as I sat listening to the Mao women welcome us with their eerily beautiful hymn, I felt that God had brought us to the Mao people on an historic mission. "Today we look forward to the kind visit by you," they sang. "We wait to welcome you, you who come to bestow with blessings to bless. May the Holy Spirit work healing in and through you." They had waited decades for God to send someone to bring healing and restoration. Were we the ones?

The Maos had scheduled three full days of ministry for our team. Morning and afternoon we conducted outdoor crusades in a large field, and in the evenings the team split up to minister in different local churches. God poured out His Spirit in a way the Mao people had never seen. Thousands came forward, sometimes nearly every soul in a meeting, to give up animism and institutional religion to receive Christ as sole Lord and Savior. During these meetings, Steve K., Ann J., and local doctors conducted free medical clinics in a tent on the edge of the field.

Hundreds of people came forward during the meetings to be healed by Jesus of their infirmities. On the first day I stood in front of them and asked Jesus to show His power and grace to them. I asked the people to wave their hands at me if they had been healed after the prayer. A sea of hands went up to testify that the Holy Spirit had released His power. Immediately, people testified publicly about what the Lord had done. Young people said they had been delivered from the spirits of pornography, profanity, and depression.

On the morning of the third day, Brent K. and Simon Haqq ministered to a crowd of five to ten thousand people. Many of these came forward to receive the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. Cripples were touched by the power of God and stood up to walk as the Holy Spirit came upon the people.

The climax of the three days for me was the last crusade meeting. We had come not just to win souls, but to set a revival fire that would spread after we left. At this meeting I taught about the impartation of God's power for all believers to preach the gospel. I invited those who wanted this power to come forward. Hundreds of Mao believers stepped forward. Laying my hands on each one according to 2 Timothy 1:6-7, I prayed for the impartation of the spirit of love, power, and a sound mind. I challenged them put to use immediately what God had just given them by faith. I asked those in the crowd with eyesight problems to come up for ministry by the believers. People streamed to the front. I instructed the newly-empowered believers, some of whom had just been saved during the meetings, to lay their hands on these blind and visually-impaired. In Mark 16:17-18 Jesus promises that believers will lay hands on the sick, and they will get well. In front of that great crowd of people, Jesus kept His word and performed powerful miracles through "ordinary" believers. Blind eyes were opened…people whose sight was severely impaired testified that they could now see clearly! The testimonies multiplied. The lame walked and other miracles took place as believers ministered in the name of Jesus. Among these believers was an exuberant Dr. Lorho. That day God equipped His Mao army to win souls with power.

God heard the believers who had come together in unity to repent and seek healing for their tribe. He sent us, giving us the privilege of bringing blessing, healing, and restoration. Let us pray that God will send more workers to the Mao people to help the leaders teach and disciple the believers in preparation for an even greater endtime harvest.

Mission Trip to Egypt: Hepatitis C, diabetes, deafness
November 2001

"The people in the village of Saft El-Laban had never seen healing miracles done in the name of Jesus Christ as recorded in the gospels. When I came to minister, the Presbyterian church was packed with people inside, outside the doors, above in the balcony, as well as at the side exit. Many came to be healed, they heard the gospel, and many received Christ as Savior. After the meeting crowds came to me for healing prayer. One encounter was particularly memorable…

It was the turn of an older couple who happened to be close relatives of my interpreter, Dr. Isaiah. His older sister was a godly woman who had prayed many years for the salvation of her hard-hearted husband. When he came for healing prayer, he was suffering from three or four major infirmities, including hepatitis C and diabetes. So painful and debilitating was his condition that he had to be carried in and laid on the floor at my feet. When I heard that the man was Dr. Isaiah's brother-in-law and a gospel-resistant sinner, I felt it in order to ask if he would repent and turn to Jesus before I prayed over his infirmities. Dr. Isaiah translated my words into Arabic for his brother-in-law.

Unfortunately the gentleman could not hear a word that was spoken to him since his diabetic condition had apparently rendered him complete deaf. In the natural one would think that his case was hopeless---not only had he hardened his heart to the gospel over the years, now his physical ears were shut to the gospel. After all, "faith comes from hearing, and hearing from the word of Christ." However, the Holy Spirit had given me "mountain-moving faith" to minister to this man. God's grace was about to manifest to him because of the faithful prayers of his God-fearing wife.

Quickly I inserted my fingers into his ears and commanded them to be opened in Jesus' name. Instantly he could hear again. Then I had Dr. Isaiah ask him if he wanted to repent and turn to Jesus. He replied no. I was amazed at his stubbornness, but the Holy Spirit encouraged me to press the battle for this man's soul. I asked him whether he would repent if God gave him a miraculous sign, and he answered yes.

I laid my hand over his liver and spoke forth healing in the name of Jesus. Then I asked him if the Lord had given him a miraculous sign. Yes, he said, he had felt something moving around in his body when I laid my hands on him.

"So you will now believe in Jesus?" I pressed him. He wavered. I felt holy indignation at his stubbornness.

"But you made a deal with me. You said you would believe if the Lord gave you a miraculous sign." After weighing this for a moment, he finally agreed to believe in Jesus. I instructed Dr. Isaiah to lead him in a sinner's prayer.

Then I laid hands on him for his physical healing, and rebuked his infirmities in Jesus' name. I took his hand and told him to get up in Jesus' name. He stood up and testified that the pain in his body had gone. He and his wife walked away as the next person came up for healing prayer.

I am amazed at the grace of God. The Lord literally "bent over backwards" to save this man. I believe it was because of the faithful prayers of his godly wife. But actually, God has "bent over backwards" to save all of us by sending His only Son, the Righteous One, to die on the cross for us unworthy sinners!"

Report on Evangelism Crusades from Togo, West Africa
January 2002

From Sunday 20th to Sunday 27th January 2002, the AELVNA Association whose President is NADJOMBE Nadjombe of Togo held great evangelism crusades in three great regions of Togo with the participation of three friends from USA : Paul R., Jim L., and [...].

The main preacher was [...].

Crusade Venues and dates

1) TCHAMBA : Central Region : From 20th to 22nd January 2002
2) PAGALA : Central Region : From 24th to 25 January 2002
3) KOUGNOHOU : Mountains Region : From 26th to 27th January 2002

THE TCHAMBA CRUSADE : 20 to 22 January 2002

At this point, the projected teaching sessions did not take place in mornings because the evangelists did not lodge at the town of Tchamba. There were no comfortable lodging for them and they were obliged to go back to Sokode (34 miles) every night after the crusade.

As this area has the highest percentage of pagans, they did not come out for the crusade the first day. This first day, only sick Christians received their healing. The two following days, pagans came out and experienced their healing: an old blind pagan received his healing and could see.

The teaching on the Healing Ministry of Reverend [...] bore strongly its fruits because many miracles that pass all understanding occurred. Even, the Pastor who is Responsible for the Zone of Tchamba-Pagala seemed to doubt but he came convinced when he experienced himself the healing power of Jesus : he was delivered from a chronic stomachache. He was then full of joy and testified to glorify the Lord.

PAGALA CRUSADE : 24th to 25th JANUARY 2002

At this point, an interesting collaboration among the different Denominations of the area was demonstrated. Many miracles happened. The elder PASGO, the former President of the Assemblies of God Churches of Togo who is now 88 years of age received an amelioration of his audition and vision after the teaching and the experience of Healing. His wife testified and proved publicly the veracity of the miracle.

KOUGNOHOU CRUSADE : 26th to 27th JANUARY 2002

After PAGALA, KOUGNOHOU was the last area that profit from this gift of the Lord. The evangelists moved from PAGALA at 23 o'clock and traveled all the night singing and giving glory to the Lord. They arrived at KOUGNOHOU at 5 o'clock A.M. Here, the teaching sessions took place in the afternoon. Christians of the area constructed a very great and beautiful podium. There were also many people and many pastors at the crusade. All the pastors of this region were holding their annual pastors Assembly and many of them were glad to participate to the crusade. After the crusade, Pastor AKUI of the Assemblies Church of KOUGNOHOU testified that those who said they were healed during the healing prayers of the crusade are really healed. Brother Nadjombe also testified that a woman from BROUNFOU, a village of the area, was completely healed from her backache and can now walk without her walking-stick. Even, the chief of the same village testified that a blind person was healed but he is ashamed to come to the church.

All the people of AKEBOU are claiming another session of evangelism in their villages. They consider that this first session is simply the beginning of such activities in this part of Togo.

As for us, members of AELVNA, it is with joy and satisfaction that we are praising the Lord for what He allowed to be accomplished during your recent mission. We are praying that He may allow another great seminar together with you in Togo. May He who is the Almighty, the same, yesterday, today and forever, be with you and give you more anointing for His mission and bless you with all blessings in heaven. AMEN AND AMEN.

Miracles of Salvation & Healing in Venezuela
August 2001

Yesterday I returned from a five-day trip to San Cristobal, Venezuela, where I participated in an historic Congress on Unity. For the first time in the history of the city (perhaps in the country), over 300 pastors and leaders from different denominations and traditions came together in one accord for the sake of reaching the city. Also participating in this Congress were several pastors and leaders from Houston, among them Dr. Charles Wisdom of First Baptist Church Katy, Jim Herrington of Mission Houston, and Dr. Doug Hodo, President of Houston Baptist University.

During the daytime, different workshops centering on unity in the Body of Christ were offered to the Congress participants. I was given the privilege of teaching the pastors and leaders how to minister healing to the sick for the sake of the gospel---power is unleashed when believers come together in unity for the gospel. During these sessions, God's healing power flowed through some of these pastors and leaders to heal the sick.

In the evenings, we held evangelistic crusades in a local baseball stadium. Dr. Wisdom preached the gospel on two nights, and we rejoiced to see hundreds of precious souls stream forward to the platform as he invited them to receive Christ. Afterwards, I went up to the stage and from the podium invited those who needed healing to come forward for healing prayer. Again, many came forward to trust the Lord for their healing. The pastors and leaders I had trained in the Congress were there to lay hands on them in the name of Jesus. The Lord proved gracious, and people came up to the podium to report to the crowd what they had experienced. Some of the testimonies from the two evenings….

A woman who had a fibroid tumor in her womb could not longer find or feel the growth. A man who was totally blind and severely hearing-impaired was now able to see the full moon suspended over the stadium in the sky. When my interpreter asked him a question, he could hear clearly, jerking his head away as if it was now too loud! A woman's face had been paralyzed on her right side. But she said she was almost completely healed! A man with AIDS said his symptoms had disappeared and believed he was healed of the disease. A boy who had been severely pigeon-toed came up to the platform with his feet pointing straight ahead! A mother carried a young boy up to the platform and reported that her son's foot had been flat and had no arch. But the Lord healed the boy's foot. I looked at his foot and saw a normal arch! A woman had come to the stadium with a tumor in her breast. But after the healing prayer she could not longer find it; it had vanished! A man had come to the meeting suffering from both depression and the entire right side of his body without feeling. But during the ministry time, normal feeling was restored to his body, and he also felt he was delivered from his depression! (There were others who were also miraculously healed as well as those who were not healed.)

The name of the Lord Jesus was glorified those evenings as precious souls were saved, healed, and delivered. The key ingredients to these glorious meetings were: unity of the Body of Christ; fervent, focused, and united prayer; the preaching of the gospel; and an understanding of how to operate in public power encounters (signs and wonders). The pastors and leaders of San Cristobal have taken a big step forward in reaching their city for Jesus Christ!

Forty Days in India and Pakistan
September- November 2000

Fleeing from enraged Muslims in Pakistan
Meeting in Quetta, Pakistan (near the Afghanistan border)

During this extraordinary five-week trip, I experienced the indescribable. In Karachi I was driven from a Crusade meeting by an armed mob enraged because I repeatedly proclaimed that "Jesus is the Son of God" as the Holy Spirit performed miracles of healing in their midst. In Manipur my team and I enjoyed living quarters devoid of running water, a sink, a toilet to sit on. In Senapati I witnessed deaf-mutes hear and speak, the blind beginning to see, and countless other miracles as Jesus confirmed the gospel to thousands in open-air Crusade meetings. We saw storm, wind, and lightning turn away from our open-air meeting after we prayed and rebuked them in Jesus' name. The storm touched down with fury a short distance to the north and south of us, leaving the skies over our heads calm. Later that evening after the preaching of the Word, showers of blessing fell as Jesus healed many sick people and souls came to Him.

So many things cannot be recounted because of lack of space. But there were two things recurring throughout the trip I want to share with you. First, the Lord is doing a new thing. He is restoring His power for proclaiming the gospel to every believer. (Mark 16:15-20) In every city or town I visited the power to heal the sick and cast out demons was imparted to "ordinary" believers for the purpose of winning unbelievers to Christ. Miracles were multiplied as they laid hands on the sick in the name of Jesus. Even the authority to minister "mass healing," in which masses of sick people are miraculously healed through a single prayer, was imparted to some. Houston team members Steve Austin and Donna Rienstra began to minister in this way, as well as local preachers, who are now emboldened to hold their own mass crusades to win the multitudes of Pakistan and India. I am convinced that God desires to restore power and authority to every believer in order that we might complete the Great Commission without further delay. And He is doing so without regard to denomination, for great miracles were done through Baptist believers in the Crusade sponsored by STABU (Senapati Town Area Baptist Union, India). Second, it is the Lord's will to confirm the gospel He has given us to preach. "Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it." (Mark 16:20) As I preached the gospel in Crusades in Pakistan and India, the Lord performed miracles that astounded me. He made me keenly aware that my own faith in ministering to the sick had little to do with the powerful New Testament miracles I saw. But He did them simply because I preached the gospel of Jesus Christ. The miracles confirmed the gospel so that those who witnessed them could believe unto eternal life. "God so loved the world..." that He will graciously perform miracles to draw the lost to the gospel of Christ.

The response to this ministry of imparting the power to heal the sick to every believer for the sake of winning the lost was unanimous. Pastor S. M. S. of Karachi said "in his fifty years of ministry, he has never seen anything like it." He has invited me to return next year for large Crusades in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. Pastor Oliver Z. of the city of Quetta, a provincial capital of Pakistan, added, "Such a ministry has NEVER BEFORE been seen in Quetta…foreign evangelists usually come to our city and [through large evangelistic Crusades] serve us fish, but you have taught us how to fish."

At the end of this trip to Pakistan, Pastor Oliver and his team took me from Quetta to an enclave of Hindus living in a remote area called Sibi a few hours drive through the arid desert near Afghanistan. A first-ever Evangelistic Crusade was planned. During the Crusade the Lord performed many miraculous healings among the Hindus, and many of them repented from idolatry to make Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior. A church was immediately planted in this previously unreached village. This church today is a vibrant congregation. Below is Pastor Oliver's 2008 report on that work.

"It has progressed like the church in Antioch in the book of Acts. The brother who arranged the meeting has graduated from an Assembly of God Bible School and running that church. In the year 2005 they started to construct a church building that could hold three hundred people. It was constructed within ten months without the support of any outside. Now almost three hundred people gather in this church. Now other students who have converted have completed their Bible School and are now doing evangelism in this biggest province of Balochistan."

God is doing a new thing! This paralleled what the Lord did among the 500 believers representing thirty churches who attended the three-day Conference in Kalimpong, India, where I was the keynote speaker. Many were so encouraged by the authority for signs and wonders the Lord had given them that they committed themselves to serving the Lord as soul-winners to the precious souls who live around them. The Lord is doing a new thing!

Dr. Lorho P., a prominent Baptist community leader in Senapati and Manipur, asked us to return next year. On the last night in Senapati the local Baptist pastors and believers were overflowing with joy at the great miracles done through the believers resulting in an estimated 10,000 souls repenting from sin and inviting Jesus to rule over their town as their King.

Blind and deaf woman in South India
December 2001

As about one hundred people came forward for healing prayer for back problems at our Seminar near Pondichery, South India, a woman also stepped forward. Approaching me she had a most desperately pleading look on her face, all the while pointing at her eye and her ear. I understood she was blind in one eye and deaf in one ear, and want to be healed in Jesus' name. But the prayer was for those with back problems, and she stood by patiently as one hundred more believers came forward to lay their hands on those with back infirmities. When I asked who had been healed through the prayer, the great majority of the hundred people raised their hands. I asked for testimonies, and many testified how their backs had been healed, some having suffered for years with pain. When I told everyone to return to their seats, the woman also went back, still blind and deaf.

Looking at her I felt compassion for her and the gift of faith welling up within my spirit. I motioned her to come back up. We were going to minister healing to her in Jesus' name. She approached the stage.

"Who's going to minister healing to her?" I asked the crowd of between four and five hundred believers who were attending the three-day Seminar on Signs and Wonders. A middle-aged sister who was a leader in a local church came forward.

"Now, sister, we're going to minister healing to her just as Jesus would," I said to her matter-of-factly. "Jesus opened the ears of the deaf and the eyes of the blind by putting his fingers in deaf ears or touching blind eyes, and commanding healing with authority. We're going to do it the same way right now. Put your finger into her deaf ear." She did as I instructed.

"Now with authority say 'in the name of Jesus, spirit of deafness, come out. Ear, be open in Jesus' name.'" After she repeated the command after me, I said, "Now let's test her hearing."

The woman said that she could hear again---faith in the name of Jesus had opened up her deaf ear. The Seminar hall erupted in praise to the Lord Jesus.

"Now let's minister healing to her blind eye in Jesus' name. Sister, lay your hand on her blind eye, and command it to be restored in Jesus' name." Afterwards she covered up her good eye to test the other eye, but she saw nothing but darkness. "Let's minister to her again," I said.

Once again the sister spoke over the blind eye, but still there was no restoring of the sight. I could feel the tension in the auditorium. Remembering that the apostle Paul had prayed three times before he accepted that it was not God's will to remove the thorn in his flesh (2 Cor 12.7-9), I instructed the sister to minister a third time.

This time with her blind eye she could make out the three of us standing in front of her as well as the color of the sister's pink dress. Once again the sister ministered to her, and now she could see more clearly with the eye. (See Mark 8.22-25 for a similar incident in the ministry of Jesus Christ.)

Cancer healed in South India
December 2001

We taught a Workshop for pastors and believers near Pondichery, in the state of Tami Nadu, South India. About four hundred people came to receive teaching and impartation to minister supernatural healing to the sick for winning souls. After each session, scores of people would come forward to receive healing in Jesus' name from those who had been trained. Among these was a very frail young woman who according to her doctor was suffering from cancer. As a sister in Christ laid hands on her and rebuked the cancer in the name of Jesus, she felt the healing virtue of the Lord Jesus enter her body. She felt the cancer disappear! Afterwards she came forward and testified of her healing before the assembled believers.

Persecution in Pakistan
September 2000

I was holding open-air evangelistic crusades in Karachi, the capital of Pakistan. Although there are Christian "colonies" where such meetings can be held safely, this crusade was in a non-Christian community. During each meeting I preached the gospel and asked the Lord to confirm His word by healing the sick miraculously. Those who were healed I asked to come forward to testify publicly at the podium. After each testimony I would take back the microphone and declare heartily that "Jesus is the Son of God!"

For two nights over our loudspeakers the local people in the community heard the gospel and the testimonies, followed by what to them was blasphemy. The First Pillar of the local religion, the Shahadah, declares emphatically that "there is no God but Allah...," meaning there is no Son who is equal to the Father. Anyone who blasphemes by saying that Jesus Christ is God is worthy of death.

al Qu'ran Sura 5.72 They do blaspheme who say: "(Allah) is Christ the son of Mary." But said Christ: "O Children of Israel! worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Whoever joins other gods with Allah,- Allah will forbid him the garden, and the Fire will be his abode. There will for the wrong-doers be no one to help. 73. They do blaspheme who say: Allah is one of three in a Trinity: for there is no god except One Allah. If they desist not from their word (of blasphemy), verily a grievous penalty will befall the blasphemers among them.

Sura 19.88 And they say: The Beneficent God has taken (to Himself) a son. 89 Certainly you have made an abominable assertion.

On the third night of the crusade, a mob of simmering people gathered outside the walls of our open-air courtyard. A messenger came into our meeting to inform us that unless we stopped the meeting immediately, our safety could not be guaranteed. One of the Christian brothers went out to confront them, and was told they had firearms. My host pastor asked me to stop preaching, and I understood from the chilling tone of his voice that there was imminent danger. As I stepped down from the podium he announced to the crowd that the service was over, and that everyone should leave immediately. A foreboding sense of fear came over me. I was told to sit down and wait as the crowd of people milled around wondering where to go---the mob was just on the other side of the courtyard walls. Over the confusion I could hear the sound of the mob chanting in an unknown language.

Sitting there I couldn't understand why we didn't get out quickly. It occurred to me to remove my jacket and tie so I wouldn't be recognized as the blasphemer once we left the couryard. In my imagination I saw myself being surrounded by angry people and beaten, and having to explain to my wife back in Houston what had happened. I was snapped back to reality when some of the brothers grabbed my arm and escorted me out a side exit into an alley which led to the back of the courtyard. We walked briskly but did not run. At the back of the courtyard we turned right onto a small street, merging into a stream of pedestrians in the night. I didn't notice anyone chasing us, but the apprehension had locked onto my heart. After a few blocks we came upon a small white sedan idling at the side of the street. A door swung open, I was pushed into the rear seat, and we took off. Even in the car I did not feel completely out of danger. At a pause in the traffic I looked around to see if we were being followed. It was not until I was safely back at my host pastor's home did I calm down.

Later a few other believers who had been at the meeting trickled into the pastor's home. Some of the younger sisters were still weeping in hysteria from the frightening confrontation with the spirit of anti-christ that evening.

Kerala-Tamil Nadu, India
December 2001

The report from the open-air meetings near Trivandrum (Kerala State, India) were glorious. Pastor R. J. Justin Albin, local Coordinator of the Seminar and Crusade working under Pastor Moses Paulose, is eager to hold a much larger Crusade on my next trip to the area. Thousands in that partly idol-worshipping community heard the gospel preached during the four-night Crusade. They saw the great miracles that the Lord did to confirm that Jesus is the Son of the only true God.

One evening I preached from 2 Kings 18 about how the Lord showed the thousands gathered on Mt. Carmel through the prophet Elijah that He was the true God, and not Baal. Like Elijah I was given the boldness to ask the Lord to send "fire from heaven" to show the people that the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ is the true God, and not the false gods they worship. The Lord then SENT THE FIRE---a young man with a severe heart valve condition had come to the meeting. Witnesses saw him walk to the meeting ten feet and then stop to catch his breath, struggle another ten feet, and then stop again to rest, and so forth. A believer laid hands on him at the front as I asked the Lord to send the "fire from heaven," and the Lord answered. The young man climbed up to the platform to testify that the Lord had healed his heart, and demonstrated it by running on the stage! The crowd erupted in applause; pastors and other servants of God rejoiced and received much, much encouragement seeing how the Lord had glorified His name before the unbelievers. During the four evenings, the Lord did many other miracles through the ministry of the believers as well, including a healing a woman from cancer in her womb, setting free another woman who had been tormented by demons of severe epilepsy, and healing the mind of a man who came to the meeting dressed in dirty clothes suffering from a mental problem that rendered him unable to think or speak normally. My heart rejoiced when I heard the greatful testimonies of others who had been delivered of the pain they had suffered for years when believers laid hands on them. This community has been impacted by the power of the Lord.
