Question: “Are faith healers for real?
Answer: There is no doubt that God has the power to heal anyone at any time. The question is whether He chooses to do so through those who are called “faith healers.” These individuals typically convince their audiences that God wants them to be well and that through their faith—and usually a financial offering—God will reward their faith by healing them through the power of Jesus…
The “audiences” mentioned above are usually Christians attending the healing service hoping to be miraculously healed. The “faith healer” will generally encourage the Christians to believe that they are already healed according to Mark 11:24, and by doing so it will be theirs. Faith healers also often emphasize to their audience the importance of sacrificial giving to their ministries before they are healed to demonstrate their faith in the Lord, or even after they are healed in order “to seal their healing.”
We at The Elijah Challenge do not teach “faith healing.” Rather we train the Lord’s disciples to how to proclaim the kingdom of God to the lost as Jesus did and as he taught and commanded his disciples. Proclaiming the kingdom of God to the lost involved healing the sick as evidence that Jesus is in fact the Son of God.

Luke 10:9 Heal the sick who are there and tell them, “the kingdom of God has come near to you.”
We also do not teach Christians with infirmities to “claim their healing” by faith according to Mark 11:24. Our audiences instead will consist of unbelievers who of course do not have faith in the Lord. We do not encourage them first to believe that they are already healed in order to receive their healing. But when they personally experience their infirmity miraculously healed by the Lord, some will then make the decision to put their faith in Him as Lord and Savior.
We tell unbelievers—Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, and other gospel-resistant people groups—that the One True God indeed loves them and wants to forgive their sins through the sacrifice of His only begotten son Jesus Christ on the cross. The evidence that Jesus has authority to forgive sin and grant eternal life is his authority to heal the sick miraculously. Jesus clearly taught this when he healed the paralytic in Mark 2.
Mark 2:9 Which is easier: to say to this paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take your mat and walk’? 10 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the man, 11 “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.”
And because God loves them, He heals many of the unbelievers of their physical infirmities—through the ministry of disciples trained from the Scriptures to minister as Jesus did and as he taught his own disciples in the gospels. And some unbelievers will respond to His love by putting their faith in His Son Jesus Christ as only Lord and Savior.
During such meetings we never take offerings. Freely we have received, and so freely we give.
We definitely do not teach or practice “faith healing.”
