Expatriate believers from Sri Lanka, India, and Pakistan came together in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates for the very first Elijah Challenge Training in this city. Hosted by Calvary International Ministries founded by Dr. Tissa Weerasingha, the two-day Training was most enthusiastically received by the participants who had never before understood that the Lord Jesus Christ had delegated to them authority and power to heal the sick and cast out demons as evidence of the truth of the gospel to the lost—especially to the gospel-resistant. During the two days as believers laid hands on those with various infirmities, those prayed over testified that they they had been healed or experienced the Lord’s healing power. One woman with pain on her left side possibly caused by a bulging hernia witnessed the hernia begin to shrink as the pain subsided.
In between the two days of the Training, an evangelistic service was held at St. Andrew’s Church. There we preached the gospel from John 14:6 where Jesus claimed to be the only way to the Father—the One True God in heaven. The evidence of this would be the miraculous works—specifically miraculous healing—done by believers in the name of Jesus Christ.
Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves. Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. (John 14:11-12)
The woman on the left above was a Muslim from India who came to the meeting for prayer for lung cancer. She was experiencing difficulty breathing. During the time of healing prayer following the message she came forward for ministry. Trained sisters laid hands on her with power and authority in Jesus’ name. She felt something “indescribable” in her body, and afterwards came forward to testify that she was able to breathe normally. Others also came forward to testify of having experienced the healing power of our Lord Jesus Christ. The testimonies signified that Jesus is indeed the promised Messiah, the only way to the Father in heaven—the One True God.
Afterwards The Elijah Challenge was urged to return to the UAE to conduct a much bigger Training Event involving the twenty-odd churches in Sharjah near the city of Dubai. A servant of God originally from Pakistan moreover invited us to teach The Elijah Challenge in his home country. The Lord willing, we will be there.
