Elijah Challenge worker Brother Muthamajhi
In May Muthamajhi conducted a mini-Feeding Event in a small village called Tekang inhabited by around seventy people. Tekang is an unreached village consisting of a people group called “Gonda.” He was expecting all the villagers to come to the event, but due to the severe heat only around forty people showed up.
At the event there were two severely demonized people who needed help. One was an eight-year-old girl and the other an elderly woman. The woman’s husband had passed away, and his spirit [or more likely a spirit impersonating him] would frequently come upon her and speak through her. It would also talk with the villagers. At the event Muthamajhi commanded the spirit not to come and disturb the woman anymore in the name of Jesus. At that very moment the demon spirit left her. The villagers were amazed to witness this since they had called local sorcerers many times to help, but the witch doctors had failed every time. Praise the Lord, Muthamajhi was able to cast the spirit out by using the Lord’s authority.
The eight-year-old girl had gone to the river, and when she returned she was demonized. She was very weak and she could barely open her eyes. She could not even recognize the other people. She was brought to the event where Muthamajhi ministered to her. The demon left and she became conscious again. Many sick people also came forward and the Lord healed them there.
By the Lord’s wonderful grace, the villagers accepted Jesus Christ after hearing the gospel and witnessing the power of His name.
Elijah Challenge worker Brother Nayak
Brother Nayak had arranged for a Feeding Event in a small village called Kumardhamni inhabited by the “untouchable” Dalit people most of whom are uneducated. After sharing the gospel he ministered to the sick in the name of Jesus Christ.
A grandmother had suffered from a stroke a year earlier. One leg and one hand were completely paralyzed. But she continued taking medication for nearly a year and so was able to walk slowly step-by-step. She came to the event with much expectation, and the Lord graciously touched her. When our brother ministered to her, the Lord touched her and she started walking much better than before. It was marvelous!
Another woman was struggling with burning in her stomach for three months due to gastritis. She experienced the Lord’s healing touched instantly and her burning stopped. A gentleman was suffering from arthritis in both two hands. They were swollen and very painful. But the Lord healed him. The Dalit people were filled with wonder witnessing such instant healing. It encouraged them to accept Jesus the Christ as Lord and Savior.
