In the late 1990s two Bible school students, Rusman and Yola, were went by their denomination to serve as interns in our church in Batu Ampar. There they served under Senior Pastor Abakko. The Lord brought them together, and in 1999 they were married by Abakko. Then they left Batu Ampar for a village called Bukit Kelam just outside Sintang in the interior of West Kalimantan where they took over the pastorate of a small church. The congregation grew, and eventually they moved the church to its present location at the foot of a stone mount.

In April 2013 Rusman and Yola arranged for us to teach The Elijah Challenge to servants of God in their area for two days. On the evening of the third day we conducted an evangelistic healing service in their church. Several people with infirmities testified they were healed by the trained disciples following the preaching of the gospel. In this way the gospel of Jesus Christ was confirmed for the listeners, and the believers were greatly encouraged in their faith.
