Aracariguama Visitation of God in Brazil

Reports: The Elijah Challenge in Brazil

Aracariguama is a small town an hour and a half west from the city of Sao Paulo. Our host was the Valley of Blessing. The first training session was held for a relatively small group of disciples, and the Lord was gracious to heal infirmities at the end of the session as Jesus’ disciples laid hands on them to minister healing.

In the afternoon the USA team, consisting of nine believers, along with the Brazilian disciples went into the community going door-to-door to heal the sick and proclaim the kingdom of God according to Jesus’ command in Luke 10:9 “Heal the sick and tell them, ‘the kingdom of God is near you.'” The reports were most encouraging.

Later during the evening evangelistic service, four or five disciples testified of various miraculous healings during the door-to-door outreach and even more people accepting Jesus Christ. Three of the groups reported about 20 people putting their faith in Jesus Christ.

Ministering healing to the infirm as Jesus taught

Large breast tumor disappeared

At this evening service there were extraordinary testimonies of growths and a tumor disappearing. A man had various growths in his body, but after the brothers ministered to him he could no longer find them. A woman testified through sobs with her hand tucked inside her blouse over her breast that she had had a large tumor on the breast. It was painful; she could not even touch it. But after sisters laid hands on her, the healing power of Jesus Christ was released and the tumor vanished.

On the second day of ministry, the USA team again split up into small groups and went door-to-door with their Brazilian counterparts to heal the sick and proclaim the kingdom of God. Again they witnessed many powerful miraculous healings and many people accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Blind eye sees clearly

As just one testimony, an elderly man in one home they visited was unable to walk because of very bad knees, and completely blind in one eye. The team ministered to him in Jesus’ name, and he was able to get up and walked around normally. Then he told the team to open his blind eye as well. After a few times of ministry by the team he was actually able to see clearly.  There was a small parakeet perched about 20 feet away from him on which he focused his eye. He observed three or four partially-covered red feathers in its little tail. When he pointed this out to the team members, they gave thanks to God for such a wondrous miracle. The family accepted Jesus Christ. The team was most encouraged seeing the Lord’s wondrous works through them.

USA teammate Margaret sharing about miraculous healing during home visitation

In a nutshell, here’s what happened during the three days of the Visitation of God in the town of Aracariguama:

  1. Of the many homes which were visited by the disciples during three afternoons, 129 households indicated a desire for a second follow-up visit by the church.
  2. Thirty-four people made a decision to follow Jesus Christ during the three afternoons.
  3. Fifty miraculous healings were recorded during the three afternoons as the disciples ministered to infirm people in their homes.
  4. The brethren from other cities and churches who were with us also received miraculous healing and were built up by the Elijah Challenge Training.

Then door to door in the city of Sao Paulo

Following the three fruitful days in Aracariguama eight of our US team members returned to Sao Paulo to prepare for their return flight to the USA on the following day. After returning to the city they shared and ministered at a prayer meeting at a vibrant Baptist Church. Below is teammate Al Hartman’s recounting of what happened last night…

“We had a wonderful evening last night. I gave them a lot of encouragement by discussing the salvations and healings that we experienced in the Valley, and Kurt did a great job with a sermonette and leading the healing. There were many there who were trained disciples and much healing took place. We are going to go door to door with them today and should see a bountiful harvest.”

So the USA team continued to go door to door healing the sick and proclaiming the kingdom of God—but now in the great city of Sao Paulo—just hours before they left for the airport to fly home to the USA.

Miraculous healings at the prayer service in Sao Paulo

Below is teammate Kurt Simm’s account of the Friday evening prayer service:

“As Brother Al Hartman reported [above] he exhorted the people by giving a full report of most of the healing and salivations. There was nothing else really left for me to tell the people so I had been praying that the Lord would give me something. After we arrived at the service there was lots of praying and worship. They had  powerful worship and eventually they invited us to come forward, as I sat in the pew I saw there were  similarities as in our western culture churches. Before it came time for my turn to speak a scripture came to mind in

1 Samuel 15:22  But Samuel replied, “What is more pleasing to the LORD: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to His voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams. 1Sa 15:23  Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft, and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols. So because you have rejected the command of the LORD, He has rejected you as king.”

So I began to compliment their worship and praise and told them that I loved them, following that I expounded on this passage, that Saul was disobedient for he failed to carry out the Lord’s command resulting in the Lord rejecting his offerings and sacrifices and ultimately rejected Saul. I told them that Blake and I were discussing different forms of praise and worship in the church today, and that Blake had shared with me that his worship didn’t just consist of the time set aside before the preaching but, worshiping God in his daily walk by obeying the Lords commands. I told them that I knew about the training that they had received from The Elijah Challenge and had heard about their obedience following the Lord.

I told them that we have many churches in America that have great worship and fellowship but have become a place where many proclaiming Christians gather and worship God but they are failing to follow God’s command in obeying “The Great Commission”. I told them that I was not accusing them of this but that we were there to build them up! I told them that we can learn from history and if we forget what has happened to others in the past we could fall into the same trap. So just as Saul was rejected by God along with his offerings and sacrifices, so will we if we fail to obey the Lord in carrying out His commands.

I asked them if i needed to stop or could I continue for the Lord had brought one more scripture to mind in Mark 2:1-12. and they encouraged me to continue. I told them just as we see in the text that many were gathered and the room was packed, so do we gather in our churches that are packed. I said that this story tells of men with great faith demonstrated by their actions in desperation. I asked if they could imagine that happening here. I said many people invite people to church, and some may come through advertisement, and some may be desperate like the men in Mark 2, but that is the exception to the rule. We need to follow in the foot steps of Jesus as He commanded us in The Gospels.

I continued teaching them the remainder of the passage through verse 12 followed by casting demons and healing the sick confirming the message. To list a few, a woman who had pain in her head and spine as the believers laid hands on her she testified that she felt like a nail driving through her body starting from head to toe and she said that what she had felt was from God and was the beginning of her healing. Another had pain all over her body and the pain left her. Another had had a tumor in her mouth and felt like an explosion in her mouth and the tumor was gone. Another with Hepatitis C and will go get checked at the doctor.

After all the testimonies of healing one of the pastors had asked me to call up all the pastors and elders to pray over them for they and their families had been under attack from the enemy. I encouraged the church in their love and duty to keep their pastors and elders in prayer and then called them up on the platform. There were about six or seven of them and I shared with them about some missionaries that were sent to preach in an unreached area in India and the witch doctors had threatened their lives and their families. After the witch doctors had sacrificed to demons more than once the demons returned and said that they couldn’t touch the missionaries for there was a ring of fire around them.

So I prayed to the Father that he would send angels to form a ring of fire around them and their families protecting them from all power of the enemy for they are servants of The Most High God. I asked for the Lord’s spirit of power and boldness to be upon them in abundance to over flowing.

As the service was resuming and we were leaving we called the senior pastor aside in the back of the church for he needed to be healed for his prostrate pain, back pain, and one other thing that I can’t remember and all three things were healed.”
